Job description

The role of the Regulatory Specialist is to review product labelling to ensure compliance with target market laws. Regulatory Specialists are responsible for researching appropriate legislation, reviewing all aspects of product labelling and packaging, and communicating with government agencies as necessary. They use investigative, analytical and comprehension skills to provide clients with feedback in a clear and solutions-focused manner.

Description:

  • Confirm scope and clarity of instructions with Sales prior to initiating project workflow

  • Handle all product and industry project types received by the department/team

  • Coordinate with Sales to educate/advise clients regarding the best way to accomplish their goals for individual

projects

  • Communicate any issues/problems/delays/additional information to Sales in a time-sensitive manner and

work to troubleshoot any issues that arise

  • Effectively liaise with other departments that are essential parts of the project workflow (for instance,

Production hubs, Quality Managers, Desktop Publishing, etc.)

  • Research target country regulations and laws, interpret information, and provide recommendations for

product/market compliance

  • Provide clear and concise feedback for clients in regards to regulatory compliance in a variety of formats

  • Display great attention to detail in review of product labels/information and ability to identify areas of concern

  • Be flexible in learning and understanding a variety of product information formats (labels, graphics, templates,

etc.)

  • Proactive outreach to applicable regulatory authorities for information or clarification on regulations

  • Display consistency in terms of attitude, quality of work and approach to their colleagues

  • Perform quality checks prior to project interim or final delivery

  • Complete tasks and deliver to Production/Sales/Clients on time or early

  • Proactively research updates and innovations in relevant fields, including current events, updated laws,

business trends and industry leaders

  • Be involved in bigger picture aspects of the business (i.e. process improvements, resource development,

database construction, etc.)

  • Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor

Job requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English

  • Superior project management, organizational and multi-tasking skills in order to simultaneously execute

multiple projects

  • Exceptional problem solving/critical thinking skills and ability to learn new skills quickly

  • Excellent research and interpretation skills

  • Creativity and flexibility to adapt to different project types

  • Great attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain professionalism, focus and solution-orientation under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience/education in policy and/or international trade

  • Experience in a regulatory compliance role

  • Fluency in a foreign language
