Position summary:

The Product Management team at TransPerfect is comprised of individuals skilled in proactively managing the development process of our applications with a desire to apply their knowledge during the entire lifecycle of an application, from gathering requirements to releasing to Production in collaboration with other teams. Junior Product Managers work within our Technology group. The Junior Technical Product Manager acts as the primary point of contact for our Client Solutions Teams and Internal Solutions Teams, as well other teams within our group, collaborating with some of the industry’s leading technology minds on the world’s leading translation automation platform.

Position responsibilities: 

  • Support the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to release, taking an active approach during User Acceptance Testing/Quality Assurance cycles of new product versions, including actively working with Development teams in their daily work during the whole development cycle.

  • Support the tracking of delivery schedules, ensuring proper quality assurance, and manage changes in work scope

  • Engage stakeholders on necessary inputs, manage communications, expectations and dependencies

  • Participate in UI/UX design

  • Perform UAT and Quality Assurance of a product’s REST API and UI, validating the correct implementation of a feature's specification and identifying possible gaps and bugs

  • Author and review Documentation updates

  • Analyze reported issues, new features and improvement requests from stakeholders and communicate them accurately and effectively to developers, writing formal specifications when necessary

  • Provide support to colleagues from other teams, including Client Solutions Teams and Internal Solutions Teams as well as Technology Sales and Technology Services

  • Self-train to better understand internal and third-party technologies

  • Perform any other special tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role as assigned by the manager/supervisor

Job requirements

Essential skills and experience required: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent

  • Fluency in English with good verbal and written communication skills

  • 1 year of software product management experience in a corporate environment with good knowledge of all aspects of the software development lifecycle

  • Technical background with experience in Java, REST APIs and JSON/XML

  • Advanced experience with web-browsers using Developer tools

  • Basic understanding of any back-end programming language (C#, Java, PERL, PHP, Python, etc.)

  • Basic understanding of javascript and any frontend framework (Angular, React, Vue, etc.)

  • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD, and Release Management processes

  • Basic understanding of relational databases

  • Good problem-solving skills, especially in the context of troubleshooting web applications, and good analytical skills

  • Experience in effectively working with external and internal clients to gather and organize user requirements, user stories and use cases

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in an international environment across different time zones

  • Good presentation skills

  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Resourceful with the drive to learn and improve skills

  • Proactive, self-starter attitude with desire to own projects with limited supervision

Desired skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of a second language

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree

  • Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Testrail or similar systems

  • Knowledge of localization Computer Aided Translation tools and Translation Memory Tools

  • Experience using regular expression, Xpath and other parsing techniques

  • Familiarity with microservices

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
