Overview

The Human Resources Generalist supports employees and managers in the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic call center. The day-to-day of this role will support all stages of the employee lifecycle including answering general questions, on-boarding, off-boarding, payroll processing, leaves of absence, facilitating manager training, and partnering with managers to resolve employee relations issues. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the rest of the HR team to ensure delivery of global projects and division specific process improvements.

Description

  • Partner with managers to understand and resolve employee relations issues including providing guidance on company policies and procedures, ensuring laws are followed, advising on disciplinary action, and addressing general concerns.

  • Conduct employment-related investigations and work with legal counsel as necessary with HRM approval.

  • Support processes through the employee lifecycle including performance management, organizational chance, and conduct issues.

  • Deliver training for managers and supervisors on various HR policies and procedures, such as termination ticket, corrective action, effective communication, as well as annual compliance training for employees.

  • Reviews, tracks, communicate to Ministry of Labor and file all employee corrective actions; provides feedback to management and send a monthly corrective action report for Pay for Performance Plan

  • Report on workers compensation

  • Review HR processes and suggest changes to improve efficiency and scalability while ensuring they are appropriately shared.

  • Manage interactions with the Ministry of Labor on employee issues, research on law jurisprudence, document and maintain compliance with local regulations.

  • Manage the payroll process end to end by collecting and preparing information and ensuring any payroll-related transactions (e.g., new hires, leavers, sick leave, paid and unpaid leaves, bank holiday payments, bonuses, and commission, etc.) are processed and submitted to the payroll service providers by the payroll cut-off date each month or bi-week.

  • Oversee the on-boarding process, to ensure the procedure is properly completed and required documentation is secured.

  • Termination process: ensure termination procedure is properly completed; ensure required documentation is completed and submitted.

  • Reviews and approves all voluntary and involuntary terminations; provides feedback to management.

  • Review, asses legal risk, and approves special involuntary terminations (without severance). For special terminations, engage with legal counsel or Ministry of Labor as necessary with HRM approval.

  • Respond to any inquiry and maintain up to date the Dominican Republic shared email box management while fostering its usage among employees.

  • Assist, advise and educate employees and stakeholders on general queries about HR policy and processes, questions, doubts and HRIS system usage.

  • Conducts focus groups and pulse sessions to get the engagement level of the employees.

  • Be cross trained in all HR processes for Department Support and PTO coverage.

  • Completes all other tasks and projects that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor.

  • Strong attention to detail is crucial, and excellent communication skills; both verbal and written

  • Working knowledge with a Human Resources Information System, preferably Workday

  • Maintain flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, as needed

  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
