OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Generalist supports employees and managers in the U.S. and Canada. This role is responsible for a variety of tasks throughout the employee lifecycle, including answering general questions, facilitating manager training, partnering with managers to resolve employee relations issues, and preparing immigration cases. The HR Generalist will also collaborate closely with the rest of the HR team to ensure the delivery of global projects and region-specific process improvements.
DESCRIPTION
Partner with managers to understand and resolve sensitive employee relations issues, provide guidance on company policies and procedures, advise on disciplinary actions, write performance improvement plans, and address general concerns.
Conduct employment-related investigations and collaborate with legal counsel as necessary.
Support employees requiring employer sponsorship by preparing visa cases alongside immigration counsel.
Support processes through the employee lifecycle including performance management, organizational changes, and conduct-related issues.
Review employee handbooks and policies, updating them as necessary.
Proactively manage federal, state, and local regulations, such as paid sick leave and update policies accordingly.
Develop and deliver trainings for managers on various topics such as effective communication, as well as annual compliance training for employees.
Review HR processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement new, efficient, and scalable processes as appropriate.
Promote a positive employee relations environment, maintain confidentiality, and establish trust and credibility.
Perform other special projects or duties as needed when required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
5-7 years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and compliance
2-3 years of dedicated HR experience in a HR Generalist role, demonstrating a broad understanding of HR functions and best practices
Multi-state work experience and knowledgeable in employment laws
