Finance Expert - Remote in Spain

Work Location: Spain (Remote) 
Engagement Model: Freelancer / Independent Contractor 
Weekly Workload: Up to 20 hours per week 

DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking experienced Finance Experts to contribute to the development of high-quality, expert-level datasets used to evaluate advanced reasoning and decision-making capabilities. Candidates with a strong background in corporate finance are highly preferred; however, professionals from other finance disciplines, including financial analysis, are also encouraged to apply. 

Role Summary  

This role focuses on designing and building high-quality datasets composed of complex, expert-level questions, answers, and evaluation rubrics. The work requires deep domain knowledge and the ability to structure tasks that involve multi-step reasoning and sophisticated function calls, such as web search, document retrieval, and calculations, to effectively evaluate advanced problem-solving and tool-use capabilities. 

Main Responsibilities 

• Design and develop high-quality datasets consisting of complex, expert-level questions that require multi-step reasoning and domain knowledge. 

• Create accurate, well-supported answers that demonstrate correct reasoning and effective use of external knowledge sources. 

• Develop clear, detailed evaluation of rubrics to assess answer quality, correctness, and reasoning depth. 

• Define, incorporate complex tools, and function calls, including web search, document retrieval, data analysis, and calculations. 

• Ensure factual accuracy, logical consistency, and methodological soundness across all dataset components. 

• Curate diverse tasks spanning multiple domains, difficulty levels, and reasoning styles. 

• Validate and refine datasets through testing and iteration to ensure reliability and evaluation effectiveness. 

• Document dataset structure, assumptions, and processes to support reuse, scalability, and future development. 

• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial analysis or related roles 

• Proven record of accomplishment in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling 

• Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools 

• Solid understanding of corporate finance principles 

• Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights 

• Skilled in variance analysis, trend analysis, and KPI reporting 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English 

Education 

• Master’s degree or professional certification (CFA, CPA)
