Data Engineer (Snowflake / Python)

OVERVIEW

The analytics team at TransPerfect is responsible for servicing reporting requests from both internal and client users. We are responsible for connecting to production systems’ data stores, creating ETL flows that publish the results to a variety of destinations, and building visualizations from the resulting data.

DESCRIPTION

• Design, build, and maintain Python-based data pipelines in Snowflake to service the reporting needs of clients and internal teams

• Write and optimize complex, high-performing SQL against large, multi-client datasets

• Translate reporting requirements and raw data requests into robust, production-grade data flows

• Build data flows that combine data from a variety of data sources, including MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Sharepoint, AWS, Azure, Excel, XML, JSON, REST APIs, and log files

• Troubleshoot failed data flows and resolve in a timely manner to reduce impact on production activities

• Identify areas for performance improvements in existing, long-running data flows

• Troubleshoot, fix, or enhance data workflows created by other team members

• Build Snowflake Streamlit applications as needed to support internal data workflows

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years professional experience developing in Python

• 3+ years professional experience writing SQL, including complex queries against large datasets

• 2+ years experience developing on a team that uses source control (git or similar)

• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines or ETL/ELT workflows

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with Snowflake

• Experience building Streamlit applications

• Familiarity with Tableau or another BI/visualization tool (bonus, lower priority than Snowflake/Streamlit)

• Experience in the Translation and Localization industry

• Experience with Openflow or Airbyte

• Experience with Knime or Alteryx
