OVERVIEW:

The Contracts & Budget Manager is responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing client financial

budgets, confirming contracts are maximized and ensuring billing accuracy monthly. This role works closely with

Business Development and Project Managers (PM) / Customer Success Managers (CSM). This role partners with

other department leaders to support and document processes and gain efficiencies for the contracting and financial

lifecycle of Trial Interactive contracts.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Ensure compliance with Trial Interactive contracting process, templates, and guidance.

  • Review all terms and conditions for contracts while ensuring terms align with agreed responsibilities an deliverables.

  • Review key contract billing metrics and working with the team to improve results.

  • Assist in drafting and implementing processes and procedures that will improve efficiency and strengtheinternal controls.

  • Review billing monthly and confirm budget trackers are in line with client invoices and contracts are fully maximized.

  • Assist in month-end reconciliation activities.

  • Work with Project Managers / Customer Success Managers to ensure the accurate and timely submission of invoices.

  • Review and analyze Job Cost Reports for invoice validation and research discrepancies.

  • Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.

  • Analyze accounts and determine the next appropriate action for account resolution with PM / CSM and Sales.

  • Serve as liaison and act as Point of Contact with Business Development and Operations teams, and monitor service requests and handle them within internal SLAs.

  • Build budget trackers for new and existing clients.

  • Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor..

Job requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Financial Acumen: solid understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

  • Proficiency in drafting and understanding contract language.

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Aptitude for forging strong partnerships across the organization including operations, business development, production, and quality.

  • Capability to apply strong problem-solving skills, using sound data and evidence.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Business, Accounting or Finance.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience, managing budgets, payments, and financial forecasting for clinical trials and vendor support.

  • Familiarity with contract to lifecycle management and budget tracking tools.

  • Ability to interpret complex, legal language, and translated into actionable business terms.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in contracts and budget management within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO in industry.

  • Experience in contract analysis, billing, and financial reviews.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrating ability to collaborate cross functionally.

  • Experience working with global teams and managing contracts across multiple regions.

  • Ability to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
