Job description

The QA Manager is highly experienced in managing Testing teams within the game industry. Their main role will be dedicated to ensuring the successful project execution. They will be responsible for setting up, training, and managing the QA Testing Production team. The QA Manager will provide support to the Sales team helping their clients and supporting developing of new business. They play a crucial role in managing the QA team, setting strategic goals, and maintaining effective communication with customers.

DESCRIPTION

  • Provide leadership and direction to the QA team, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, industry standards, and best practices.

  • Set goals, define strategies, and establish quality assurance processes to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Coordinate with project managers, development teams, and customers to understand project requirements and establish appropriate testing plans.

  • Monitor the progress of multiple projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and contractual obligations.

  • Create, modify, and adjust structural systems within groups strategically to benefit the business, ensure client satisfaction, and utilize personnel in the best possible ways.

  • Oversee the selection, training, and development of QA staff, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as the primary point of contact for escalated issues, feedback, and reporting.

  • Continuously assess and improve the QA department's performance, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and QA best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Consult with Sales team members on a regular basis to solicit and implement feedback, and institute plans to gain new business, and develop and safeguard existing business.

  • Monitor internal/external costs and engage in cost-saving initiatives.

  • Achieve and maintain gross margin, revenue, and profitability goals for the dedicated groups and projects.

  • Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role and assigned by the manager/supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (especially in the English language)

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Willing to take on a flexible schedule and adapt to a team-focused mentality

  • Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations, especially under tight deadlines

  • Customer oriented attitude

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Substantial experience within the Quality Assurance Testing in video game industry (10+ years)

  • Prior QA experience in management capacity (5+ years)

  • Proven experience with bug tracking systems like ADO, JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.

  • Previous experience within a similar leadership role (3+ year)

  • Proven experience with Microsoft and Google platforms (MS Office, Google Docs, etc.)

  • Proficiency with project management and version control software tools

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Passion for the video games and translation industries

  • Knowledge of prior and current gen consoles, and PC

  • Understanding of digital technologies (mobile, tablets, browser tools, etc.)

  • Experience with testing tools and automation frameworks

  • Knowledge of scripting and basic coding
